Klaatu (/ˈklɑːtuː/) was a Canadian rock group[6] formed in 1973 by the duo of John Woloschuk and Dee Long. They named themselves after the ambassador from an extraterrestrial confederation who visits Earth in the film The Day the Earth Stood Still. After recording two non-charting singles, drummer Terry Draper was added to the line-up; this trio constituted Klaatu throughout the rest of the band's recording . This record was often mistaken for a secret Beatles recording that many assumed they put out under a different name .
