This toy was the “ it find” for 1996 Christmas. The toy is in its original box and was kept in a smoke and pet free home. Box is showing a good amount of wear with some fading (box only) due to sunlight. The part that makes this toy even more rare is the handwritten note by Kevin Clash. Kevin voiced Elmo from 1985 until his resignation in 2012 due to allegations of sexual misconduct. *** NOTE*** all allegations were denied by Mr. Clash and dismissed by the courts. The note reads, “ To PJ Elmo Love You!! I’m glad I’m getting to know you Kevin“. I obtained this from the ” PJ” in the note. The batteries no longer work. I have not taken it out of the box so I don’t know if the batteries are corroded or just dead. You are buying this toy “as is”.
