Vintage Deliso, Ostrich Leather Women's Shoes - Collectible
Inscription inside shoe states, "Ostrich grain on calf."
Size on the right shoe is 7B and size on the left shoe is 6 1/2B. They both have the production number #34537. Most people have a slightly larger right foot. These were obviously custom made to address that difference in a special customer. Unique!

Palter Deliso, Inc. was formed in 1927 by Daniel Palter and James Deliso. They received a Neiman Marcus award in 1938 for introducing the open-toe sling-back pump. According to The Met Art Museum, which houses the Costume Institute, it was in business 1927 - 1975. The company was considered a pioneer in the American luxury fashion market. It remained a leading premier footwear brand through the 1960's. Deliso Debs was a line created for their younger clients, probably in the 1940's.
