Vintage teapot

This marvelous Made in Japan vintage tea pot is created in a gorgeous ceramic pottery with a lusterware glaze and hand painted floral arrangement with fanciful embellishments. This beautiful tea pot is from the Taisho [1913-1926] and the Showa [192-1941] periods and was made for export to the United States and Great Britain to support those countries interest in Japonisme. This gorgeous tea pot has a peanut colored lusterware background with some white overlay designs and a center panel with pink and purple flowers surrounded by green foliage, as well as some additional greenery in each corner. The bottom is stamped: "Made in Japan." Measurements for this fabulous creation are: Height from top to bottom including lid=6-1/2 inches, Width from handle to spout=9 inches, Depth from front to back=4-1/2 inches. Liquid capacity= 4 cups. This marvelous tea pot has been well cared for, gently used and is in excellent vintage condition.
